Talk to me!

The past week for me has been quite boring. Nothing weird or special happened, just every day things, (cooking, gym, cleaning, blah blah blah).

I know, life in Hartford is simple and quiet most of the time, but sometimes-surprisingly- there are some weird events; like tomorrow night for example, there is a midget fight at a bar down the street!

Oh, by the way, I got a part time job (finally), at a bank. I can’t wait to start a day job and get to say, “I hate my job,” (just kidding).

But anyways, I don’t want to bore you with my dull life. Let’s see what I have for you this time.

I picked up some styles from one of my favorite websites (http://www.nastygal.com). I hope you’ll enjoy.

Let me know if you want more. I’ll make the research for you. Do not be afraid to write a comment. No one is judging here.

Love to hear from you!

Kisses…

Smile!

No one was born looking like a Victoria secret model. Well ok, I know that there are people that have natural beauty and they look great even when they get up in the morning, but we are not talking about them right now.

Let me tell you something; I am not one of them. In fact, when I wake up I look like s**t. My eyes are swollen, I have pillow marks on my face, and my pajamas are up to my armpits. Some times I wonder how my husband is still with me (thank god he is still blinded from love).

It doesn’t matter though, because I am about to share with you a few tips that make my face glow, even when I have pillow marks and drools on my cheeks.

#1 and most important, smile! It’s true; beauty comes from the inside. No matter what had happened to you the previous night, day, week, month, just smile as soon as you open your eyes. Force it if you have to. You will see that after a while the smile will be in a default mode.

#2. Buy a calendar and set priorities and goals for the week and the month. Try to run your errands early in the morning, go to work, and after work try to do something productive and creative. At the end of the day, you will feel so much better with yourself.

#3. Exercise. Working out promotes good mood, and I didn’t make that up! Besides, working out makes us look hotter and our clothes fit better.

#4. Date. If you are single, start dating NOW! How?? Oh come on! Go out, ask your friends to hook you up, or download one of those dating apps! There are so many ways. Don’t just sit on your couch and wait for a miracle.

Now, if you already have found your other half, try new things in bed, spice up your sex life! I promise, it will cheer you up!

My mood changes fifteen time a day, and no, I am not schizophrenic, I am just a typical Aquarius.

Stop bitchin’ and moaning about how ‘unlucky’ or miserable you are, and start doing things for yourself! Think that you are starring in a movie, and that movie is a comedy and not some dark, black and white French documentary about World War 2. Listen to your favorite song at least once a day and dance to it. Buy some flowers for your apartment. Pose in front of the mirror and take selfies.

Smile!! Life is great!

Until next time… keep a mood chart.

Kisses.

Can you survive without friends?

It’s very simple; no one can survive without friends. Friends are everything and sometimes, they’re more important than family.

Let’s say, that you moved a new city and you knew absolutely no one. What would you?

For sure, you wouldn’t kill yourself. Let’s be creative.

As a kid, I’d visit my grandma and she would call the neighbors’ children over to play with me. That actually worked very well. However, don’t try calling anyone through your windows nowadays because most likely they will think you’re a weirdo.

Let’s assume you have job. Having a job makes things very easy because you can connect with people you work with and you’ll instantly have a common bond. I moved to Hartford without a job or friends, imagine that. But I didn’t give up and I definitely didn’t go coo-coo!

Google. Nowadays, Google is everyone’s best friend. So go ahead and search for networking events at local bars. Worst-case scenario, you might end up with a date! (Don’t forget to look fabulous no matter what you do).

Find a cool gym close to your house. Oh yes ladies and gents you have to work out dat butt! Put that effort in to keep looking hot and stay healthy! Try to avoid meatheads that pump their muscles while working out (Believe me, unless you do the same, don’t try be friends with them).

Become a volunteer. Volunteering not only serves a great cause but it also allows you connect with other people that share the same interests while helping to improve your social image.

Be a regular at your local bar. Now I don’t mean that you should become an alcoholic. I’m saying that you should find a bar that appeals to people close to your age and go there at least twice a week. Side note – don’t forget to talk to people around you. Don’t be that miserable person who always drinks alone at the bar. Oh, and make sure you have a few good ‘one-liners’ and jokes; humor always attracts people.

In any case, do not forget to smile. And please do not forget to put on your smell-goods before you start socializing (I hate people that smell bad).

If those tips do not work for you, let me know and I will try to come up with other ways to survive.

Feel free to share your story and personal experience with me. I love to hear stories!

Until next time, make more new friends and have a pedi!

Struggle day # 1

FullSizeRenderThis would be my Xmass tree. The picture was taken from my precious new phone. All the credits to me, thank you!

Let’s see… You must be wondering what the struggle diary is about. I don’t really have an answer to that, nor a definition. I could only start by telling you my story.

I moved to the States 2 years ago, and specifically in NYC. Yes, ‘The big Apple’. And yes, to chase my dream. Don’t get confused, I didn’t come here to chase ‘the American Dream’, no, no, I came here to chase ‘my dream’. You must be wondering of course, what my dream was, or is; that would be me getting into the fashion industry.

Hm…. Well, that didn’t work out for me, at least not quite exactly.

You see, sometimes you chase one thing, but something totally different might come in your way and change your whole course. That something for me is my loving husband.

Now, I could start talking about him, but I won’t. Making that long story short, I would like to tell you that I left NY and moved to CT. Now is where my story actually begins. A story about a sweet straggle, in a place maybe not as fabulous as NYC, but as interesting.

I came up with the idea to change my web page from a ‘fashion blog’, to a ‘make my every day worth something blog’.

I will be very straight with you guys. Do not expect to see flowers and butterflies every day. I will try to be as sarcastic, truthful, motivational, and awesome as I can be.

And that is a promise!

The End Of The Road

Oh my god what a day! We were trying to find a good spot to shoot and we end up to that aisle with that dead end. So we started shooting.. having fun as always and all of a sudden a suspicious vehicle shows up and begins to slowly drive towards us. I turned to George and said “We should get out of here or we’ll most likely end up getting robbed or worse, dead.”

I packed my stuff and I started walking really fast with the heels. It was hilarious, running with high heels and a suitcase full of stuff omg!

So after risking our lives for that photoshoot, with pride I present you: THE END OF THE ROAD!

Enjoy my friends and see you soon on stylection’s adventures.

Je t’aime Paris

Moulin_Rouge,_Paris_April_2011

Paris, Paris, that magical city, the city of lights. I fell in love with the air of romance you can breathe there. Where can I start from?! The Eiffel tower  so magnificent especially night time with those thousands tiny lights sparkling, it’s absolutely magic.

Walking the streets I realized that without romance in our life we are nothing, human beings with no soul. Let your  self  free to see that life is colorful and not only black and white.

I spend two days walking up and down the Champs-Élysées window shopping and shopping and of course I wanted to buy everything. Fashion there is a whole other world. People with such style and taste, it was literally the wonderland of fashion.

The Arc de Triomphe de l’Étoile is one of the most famous monuments in Paris. It stands in the centre of the Place Charles de Gaulle, at the western end of the Champs-Élysées

Of course you can’t go to Paris and not visit the Louvre see the unique exhibits that can travel you through time.

The Belle Epoque of Paris considered to be  1871-1914 but honestly I believe that The Belle Epoque is till today as long as you embrace the way Parisians live.

Enjoy my friends and see you soon !! 🙂
